Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Corelapse (“we”, “us”, or “the app”) handles information when you use the Corelapse macOS application and this website at corelapse.co.

1. Who we are

Corelapse is developed by Victor Serov. For privacy-related questions, contact info@corelapse.co.

2. Information the app processes locally

Corelapse opens files and folders that you choose, such as:

• LTTng CTF trace sessions (kernel and optional UST streams)
• Text exports from babeltrace or similar tools

These files are read and parsed on your Mac to render timelines, filters, and measurements. They are not uploaded to us and are not transmitted to our servers by the app.

The app runs in the macOS App Sandbox with read-only access to files and folders you choose in the Open dialog. Corelapse does not request broad disk access beyond what you explicitly select.

2.1. What we do not collect through the app

Corelapse does not include third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or crash-reporting services that send trace data or file contents to us. The app is not configured for general outgoing network connections; network activity related to purchases is handled by Apple (see below).

2.2. Crash and diagnostic reports (Apple)

If you choose to share crash or diagnostic data with app developers in macOS settings (System Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements), Apple may provide us anonymized crash reports about Corelapse through App Store Connect. We use these only to fix bugs. We do not receive your trace files through crash reports.

3. Purchases (Full Access)

Corelapse offers an optional one-time in-app purchase (“Full Access”) through Apple’s App Store and StoreKit. Payment processing, billing records, and refund requests are handled by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy and terms. We receive purchase entitlement information from Apple (for example, that a valid Full Access license exists) but we do not receive your payment card details.

To restore a purchase, the app asks StoreKit to verify your Apple ID entitlements with Apple’s servers.

4. Links to external sites

The app and this website may link to external pages (for example, corelapse.co, email, or Discord). Opening those links is initiated by you and is subject to the privacy practices of the destination service.

5. Website

If you visit corelapse.co, standard web hosting logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) may be recorded by our hosting provider for security and operational purposes. We do not use those logs to identify individual users for marketing.

If you email us at info@corelapse.co, we receive the information you include in your message (such as your email address and message content) so we can respond to your inquiry.

6. Data retention

• Trace files: remain on your Mac under your control. Uninstalling the app does not delete traces you copied elsewhere.
• Purchase records: retained by Apple according to Apple’s policies.
• Support email: retained only as long as needed to handle your request, unless we are required to keep it longer by law.

7. Children’s privacy

Corelapse is a developer tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you (for example, support correspondence). Contact us at info@corelapse.co.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect the latest revision. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
